How does Telehealth appointments works?

You can either have appointments by phone call, or face-to-face via Video call.

For Phone call appointments, I will call your phone at the allocated appointment time.

For Video call appointments, we use a teleconferencing program call “ZOOM“. I will send you an email with the link to the “ZOOM” program, and once you click on the link you will be directed to the video call and we start the appointment (you can use your phone, Tablet, Computer, or Laptop). We can also use “Skype” at your request.

How long does an appointment go for?

A standard appointment goes for 50 minutes, which applies to the first and all future appointments.

Do I need a referral?

You can see a Psychologist without a referral, however, if you would like to get back a Medicare rebate ($141.85 for a Clinical Psychologist) for each of your appointments, you will need to ask your GP or Psychiatrist to prepare a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP). When you book an appointment with your doctor, please make sure you let their reception know you would like a MHCP, and ask them to either fax or email the paperwork to Unwind Psychology.

What are the cost and rebates?

With a Psychology Medicare referral from you GP, you will get back a medicare rebate of $137.05 for each appointment attended. You pay the appointment fee at the start of the appointment, and receive the rebate back from Medicare in 1-3 business dates (see our Costs section for more information)

Standard Fee rate: $225 – rebate = $83.15 (out of pocket)
Discounted Fee rate: $190 – rebate = $48.15 (out of pocket) (Concession/Healthcare/Senior card required)

What is the Cancellation Policy and Privacy Policy?

Cancellation Policy – Please let us know ASAP if you cannot attend an appointment. We ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice, to allow enough time to book in other clients from the waiting list. There will be a 100% cancellation fee if less than 24 hours notice is given, however, an exception may apply for medical reasons and if a medical certificate is provided.
